July 4th Trip to the Petting Zoo

For the 4th of July, we went to a petting zoo / North American wildlife zoo. There was a wolf and a bear and a lynx, but mostly, Elaina was interested in the sheep and the goats—possibly because they don't recommend that you pet the wolf and the lynx.

The goats were about Elaina's size, and she had absolutely no fear of them—just walked around like she owned the place. She seems to have her Aunt Anne's way with animals. ;-) Listen closely, and you can actually hear the football-style hit as she runs into a goat.

And finally, Heidi, who takes many of the pictures on this blog, gets out from behind the camera for a couple mother-daughter shots.
