A couple weeks ago, I was on the phone with my sister while Elaina was eating lunch. She was eating really well, but closed her eyes while continuing to eat. She hadn’t really slowed down, so I just thought she was being silly. But then the hand carrying food to her mouth started getting slower and slower, and she was swaying a little, looking like a little jazz musician.
Next thing I knew, she was fast asleep in her high chair. I was taken completely by surprise because she’d had a morning nap. I managed to get her cleaned up, out of the chair, and in bed, with just one small protest while I was washing her face!
