First Social Worker Visit

Friday was our first visit from the social worker. She came out to see Elaina and talk to us about how things are going. We have two of these before the adoption is final—one in 3 months and another in 6 months.

It's really more due diligence on their part than a fault-finding mission, but I was really glad that things are going so well. I'd feel a lot more nervous about a meeting with the social worker if we were struggling with Elaina—though I guess their reason for visiting is to help, not to uncover problems. Still, it was nice that Elaina was her usual, charming self.
