You may remember that Elaina loves The Fresh Beat Band. Well, they were in town last week, and we all went to the show. It was her first concert.
In Elaina’s words, “It was awesome!”
She was really excited to see them, though I think Disney spoiled her a little—she expected to be able to meet them, sort of like she got to meet with the princesses. It actually would have been cool if they’d done a meet and greet with the kids, but I guess there’s just too many, and they were already doing two shows that day.
Here’s Elaina at the house, excited about going to the concert—a somewhat restrained thumbs up, followed by pleased, and moving on to exuberant.
We ate at Applebee’s before the show, and Elaina she made sure that I was aware of the seeming incongruity:
“There are no bees there.”
And she got to ride the subway for the first time. (Well, actually, she rode it in Seoul, probably quite a lot, but this was her first American subway.)
She immediately made friends with two little girls on the train…because that’s what she does. She’s wonderfully at ease in the world, and it’s contagious.
