Sometimes, even when you’ve turned two years old and grown correspondingly more worldly, it’s nice to put on a pair of mouse slippers.
Mouse slippers say, “Hey, I may be two and all grown up now, but I can still appreciate the comforts of simpler days.”
Elaina doesn’t tolerate slippers too often or for too long—whether mouse-like or otherwise—but on this day, she enjoyed them.
As she said to me, “The key, Daddy, is to be worldly without becoming world-weary.” (Or I think that’s what she said—she’s sometimes hard to understand, especially when she’s all caught up in a profound revelation.)
She’s a wise young lady. How long has it been since you’ve worn your mouse slippers?
