A scene familiar to anyone who knows us: Elaina leading the way, pulling us along into her adventures. What started out on our trip to Ohio as "You need to hold Mommy's or Daddy's hand," has backfired a little bit. Holding changed to pulling some time ago.
This time, we're at a local orchard, and Elaina's pulling Heidi towards an apple tree. Now, at the point when this was taken, we'd just gotten there. Elaina somehow already has an apple, and needs to show her Mommy that apples literally grow on trees!
What could be more magical than that? The things we have as an afternoon snack are all over the trees. You can just grab one. Incredible.
In case you're watching closely enough to note the change from pumpkin sweater to jaunty poncho: It's not a different day. Elaina didn't get apple juice all over one of her outfits. No, as much as I'd like to blame this on a messy little girl and juicy apples, the truth is, it was a beautiful day, and her parents couldn't decide which outfit they wanted her to wear for pictures at the orchard.
In case it's not apparent, there's a silver lining to all of this being pulled around: Elaina lives in a pretty interesting world, and she's happy to take you along for the ride.
If you have the chance to go with her, or if you have someone else with access to that world, the trip is highly recommended.
