Thursday at 2pm the World Changes

We pick up Elaina at 2pm Thursday--tomorrow, or rather, later today. We'll be on our own with her from there on out. We'll be with her in the hotel Thursday afternoon and overnight, and then start the long trip home with her. I only hope that she's not inconsolable at the sudden disappearance of her foster parents.

We're mostly packed, in preparation for having her our hands full. It's going to be an interesting couple days.

I can tell from the video that Elaina is very comfortable and happy being wrapped up on her foster mother's back. Have you learned how to do that??...and do you have the "bunting" type thing that would enable you to do that? That may settle her right down if she's fussy and having trouble adjusting (and that way she doesn't have to look at you! ha!!) Just a thought.............

What an amazing week you've had! As you say, the journey is only beginning:) I'm so excited for both of you. What a beautiful little girl! The love & empathy you have for my new niece will surely help soften the distress she (and both of you) encounter as you travel back home. We're all thinking of you, enjoying your blog, and looking forward to your safe--and hopefully easy--return. love, Mary Jean

The world changed at 2pm Seoul time. That was midnight Eastern Standard Time, which is what this blog is on. So, the timeline may look surprising to you, since we're finishing up a long day, and the blog shows 9am.

To Linda: The foster mom's wrap is like a quilt with ties that wrap around. Kind of cool, but we don't have anything quite like that. We have an Ergo baby carrier that lets us carry her in front or back.
